DAC 2011 previews: Mentor's Catapult® HLS tool adds TLM synthesis

Mentor Graphics announced that you can now use the Catapult® C HLS (high-level synthesis) tool to synthesize TLMs (transaction level models). According to the company, users can now apply an "executable methodology",  that enables the interplay between Catapult C Synthesis and the Vista™ TLM 2.0-based platform.  With this combination, designers can create synthesis-ready virtual platforms.

With the new Catapult C TLM synthesis flow, you can convert abstract TLM models to pin-accurate, protocol-specific, SystemC models which you can then synthesize to RTL code. You can also reverse the process, to convert existing synthesizable descriptions to TLMs. Mentor's flow supports standard off-the-shelf bus interfaces, including the ARM AMBA bus family, as well as custom protocols.

Mentor Graphics® will be showcasing the Catapult C tool, Vista and TLM synthesis in Booth #1542 at the 48th Design Automation Conference (DAC) June 6-8, 2011 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA.
